Is it really easy to get the shuffle scratched? because its white, so it is pretty obvious.
if u put it in ur pocket with keys or something rough, it would ruin the outer shell.

Yep.. I learned that from experience. I personally don't care; looking at my shuffle at the right angle would reveal scratches all over the place from being tossed around in my pocket, etc. I got my shuffle well before any cases came out, so if you're concerned about scratches, buy your shuffle with a case, and make sure you move the shuffle into the case right away with gloves on (to save it from your oily hands as well).

Mine goes in my pocket with my keys, mobile phone, loose change etc......and there's barely a scratch on it. The scratches that are on mine can only be seen by looking closely at it.

I worry alot about getting my 60GB scratched, but couldn't care less about the shuffle. Obviously I don't want to break it, but I plan on letting it age "naturally." I'm not buying a case for it.

My shuffle is pretty scratched up. But all of the scratches are little ones. Its not something you can see unless you hold it just right. You would have to try pretty hard to take a gouge out of it. I don't mind it much, the only reason I am considering a case is because I like the way some of them look.

That's pretty much why I bought mine. I use it with my EX-51s as a cheap everyday portable setup that I don't have to worry about.
