I wanted to know if there is a way to connect an iPod and a Xm Satellite in to the same "aux in" input. I've searched for an a/b switch to connect both and just switch between them but I can't find anything. I have the iTrip but the sound quality stinks. I have a Sony cd player with 1 "Aux input" to choose from on the display. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Radio Shack lists a couple of mechanical A/V A/B switches intended for home use. There's no reason why they wouldn't work in the car: just leave the video ports unconnected. You'd just need the right cables, each with dual RCA jacks on the switch box end and the appropriate audio connector for the device you're plugging it into on the other end.

Go to the acura-tsx.com forum, and into the audio-video section, and do a search on the name HondaGuy347. That is my name there, and it should come up with my install. I used a Soundgate switch to do what you are talking about.

I've done this in my Jetta, no pictures yet as I'm not quite done. basically built a tiny a-b switch from scratch and mounted it in the glove.
edit: url for the switch I built:

I would love to know how you accomplish this as well. I have two vehicles that I want to do this in.
The first is a 2005 Jetta GLI
The 2nd is a 1998 Toyota Tacoma
I have the MiFi XM sat radio and I use it at home and in both cars. I do the same thing with my ipod.
In the Tacoma I have a proclip and use the monster icarplay wireless fm transmitter which actually works really well in the tacoma but sucks in the Jetta.
In the Jetta we use the cassette adapter, but I can't stand the hissing. I would really like to get aux going on both vehicles.
Best wishes,

I finished it and it's working fine so far. I used a SONY SBV31G Game and Video Selector. http://www.mghusa.com/Products/Video-Game-Accessories/sbv-31g.html
It's no the best a/v a/b switch but it doesn't need a power source. I took the cover off it and screwed it under, and to the left of my steering wheel in a discrete spot where it can't be seen but I can still reach it just like any other control on my dashboard. My Xm ready radio still shows Xm information (station numbers and names) when I have it switched onto the iPod but the audio comes from the iPod. If cd quality is a 10 then the sound quality on this is a 9+. I can explain it better and more clearly if need be.
