ex51 vs ex71

Hi guys, it's my first post :)

I have read that the 71 bass is too noisy, but i didn't find anything about the 51 bass.

could anyone tell me what is the different between the two?
I have an ipod wich doesn't have a lot of bass, do the 71 will get it fixed with the over bass?

hello and welcome to the ipodlounge.

aesthetically the 51s and 71s look different. however, sonically, they have the same exact audio signature. so the only real reason for you to "upgrade" was if you needed the short cord for your ipod (very useful if you use the lanyard with a shuffle), or if you needed a longer than normal cord which can be accomplished with the 71s + the extension cord that comes along. i dont have the 51s so i cannot compare the two in terms of overall length, but ive listened to the 51s and they sound the exact same

if you put your ipod in your pocket, not using a remote, the ex51 is better as the wire is just the right length. unless you are using a shuffle hanging by the lanyard or you are using a remote, don't get the ex71s
