Hello all,
I've been searching throughout the forum for an answer to this, but I am still stumbled, and was hoping someone may help me out.

I've read about a number of successful iPod installations on Civics using components from Blitzsafe, however, according to Alpine all you would need is an M-Bus to mini-jack adapter (Alpine part no. KCM-123B). I've attached the M-Bus cable in the back of the factory stereo of the 1997 Civic EX (thereby losing access to the CD-Changer... ) howeer, when I plug in the iPod on the other end all I get is an error message on the stereo display. Has anyone seen this before? What am I missing? Why is there a need for the HON/AUX v.1 from Blitzsafe?

I've changed the cable, so it's not a bad one...

Thank you kindly!

Cheers,
Nick M.

you shouldnt need anything from blitzsafe.... once you plug in the 123B cable from alpine (i'm assuming this leaves you with 2 RCA hookups on the other end?) you should have a usable audio input to your head unit. maybe theres a menu function somewhere on the head unit that you need to turn on the aux input?

Thanks bhb399mm for your reply... I thought I'd go ahead and post an update in case someone else runs into the same problem:

Unfortunately it is not possible to run the iPod into the factory Alpine radio with the KCM-123B (M-bus to mini-jack) or the KCM-122 (M-bus to RCA) cables. The factory head unit will not allow that. The only work around is the Blitzsafe product (or wired FM transmitter)...

Oh well.. at least I gave it try ;-)

Cheers, and thanks!
