View Full Version : Best Symmetrical cord length in-ear buds under $50

I cannot stand the Sony 51/71 asymmetrical cord lengths. I need them to be the same length and have that Y-Shape to them.
So I am having one hell of a time finding some let along decent ones for under $50.
Anyone know if these earbuds have equal cord lengths?

yah I would have to say apple in ears too, I have them and like them. And hey if you dont like em you can just return them to Apple

Hate the Sony cord too. A real case of "fixing" something that is not broken. Forces you to wrap around your neck (a pain for me) and no matter what that left cord tug is annoying as hell. I have a pair of 51s and at least they have that two piece cord connectors that make the "tug" even more of a pain. I am going to try to mod these with shrink insulation or tape to be a symmetrical Y.
The Pioneers look interesting.
BTW, Buy.com has the shure E2c for close to your range...$64 les $5 for new customers. Tons of reviews out there, never heard em yet tempted myself.

the apple in ears have a straight connector just like the one on the stock buds, and a slider on the two wires like the shuffle buds.

Yeah the E2C's look fine and the money is fine but they have the same failure as the Sony's. Unequal cord length. The Pioneer's are SHORT and require an extension cord. So those are out because that is the ABSOLUTE dumbest thing. Man! Why the limitation? Why not make them both ways to satisfy everyone? That doesn't make any business sense.

VitB6 the E2c does not have unequal cord lengths like the EX71. Both ears have equal lengths. Don't know where you got that idea.

Wired magazine rated the Shure E2 higher than either the Sony EX-71 and the Apple In-Ear.

I have the same problem as you, I cand stand the cord of the Sony 51's/71's, I want the classic "Y-shape"....

i have the ex51LP and i think the cord is far better than the normal y-shaped cord :/
