i recently COMPLETELY rebooted my comp due to a virus, and now my library is totally gone. my question is... how the hell do i get my 289 songs back? i cant just hook it up, wont that clear my ipod? i have downloaded the ipod updater 2005-22-24 (i think thats it, but w/e the newest one is, i have it) i havnt registered my iPod with the disc that comes with it, due to a erm... incident in school, so i cant use my iPod to get it back. if anyone knows how to get it back please email me or post it here. :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

yes i do first of all, before you do anything DONT connect your iPod to your PC cause you could lose all of your songs. I had to do the same thing a few months ago. I cant remember exactly I would wait till someone else posts before you do anything else.
install the iPod software BUT NOT iTunes. after you do that go to my computer and open your iPod under hard drives then view hidden folders and copy and paste all of the folders the F1 F2.. F25 F 26..etc folders to your hard drive. then after that you are going to want to install iTunes and add all that music to ur iTunes

Press & hold Shift + Ctrl + Alt when you connect the iPod to stop it from auto sync'ing with iTunes & deleting the library. Wait until after the iPod shows in the source list about 3 secs to release the keys.
next;
After that put the iPod on 'manually manage songs & playlists' (go to Edit>Pref>iPod while connected) to set it.
next;
Use the iPod Agent link above to download & remove the songs from the iPod back to the computer.
