So I just got a good deal (~$22) on a pair of Sony MDR-EX71s. I guess it was just too good of a deal, cause when I recived them only one side has sound. Now I have emailed the seller on ebay, buts its some giant liquidation place, and my hopes arent high. I know they are supposed to replace/refund, but for 20 bucks Im not sure if its worth the hassle. Anyways, does anyone know how to pop the buds on these guys appart, Im pretty handy with a soldering iron and if its just a loose connection I could fix it.

couldnt it be a lose connection at the bud?
Make sure the extension cord is connected to the short cord, push it very hard one to another

It occurs even without the extension.

The earbud hole may be blocked.
Grab a needle, and on the side that isn't working, very gently jab the little whole in the bud, where the sound should come out of.
The buds may be blocked, and if you do this and make sure you pull up quickly when jabbing, it will loosen the earwax in the hole, and allow sound to pass through.
Let us know how it goes!

earbuds are not blocked :)
