iTunes over home wireless network, popping noises?

I'm listening to my songs from my desktop through my laptop and i'm hearing occasional popping noises. Doesn't happen for songs that are stored locally.

I'm running a SMC 11-b network router. The 11Mbps standard.

Any solutions? This is pathetic....

Upgrade your network kit to higher spec - sounds like you're not getting enough bandwidth.
If that's not practical, you could try altering iTunes' default buffer size in the options, or try using smaller files/rip them again at a lower bitrate.
