Converting

This may be a quite strange question. I didn't know whether to put it in PC or Mac. :P

My brother had an eMac and an iPod U2 Special Edition with about 1500 or so songs on it. I built him a PC, because he's done with Macs he said. We want to get the songs off the iPod onto the new pc. But, it uses a different format, so it wants you to restore it, erasing all the songs. We don't want to do that, we want to find a way to get those songs off, onto the new computer. Is there some sort of application that I can use to do this?

A search for transferring music from iPod to PC will turn up the answer.

You would need to purchase and install a utility like MacOpener (http://www.dataviz.com/products/macopener/) for your Windows machine. That app will allow the Windows computer to read/write to the iPod's hard drive.
