So I want to dye my Contour Showcase... Questions!
Could someone walk me through the process? Like step by step? I would like a red showcase or a sonic blue showcase (the color from iskin) so what colors do I need to dye it? I assume it is RIT dye.
Thanks, please be specific, I dont like to fill things out for my own ;)
it'll have instructions on the package dye on what to do, you just need to put extra dye in so it'll be stronger. other than that the dye will just soak into the white parts and you're good to go.

I dyed my contour showcase....I picked up the color black plum and it turned my contour into a dark purple. For a red color you should pick up scarlet or cardinal red.
This is the bucket method
1.Fill bucket half way with boiling/hot water...dissolve half of powder dye in 1 pint (2 cups) hot wate. Add liquid or pre-dissolved powder dye; stir to mix.
2. Add contour showcase
3 .Stir constantly for a couple of minutes you should see your case change colors almost instantly.
4 Rinse in warm water, then gradually cooler water until water runs clear. Wash item in warm water with mild detergent.
Hope this helps;)

Thanks! Do I need to cover up the glass/plastic window?
Should I let it sit in the pot for a while?
Also, when rinseing it, do I need to go back a do another coat?
Do I let it sit after its dry?
EDIT: Oh yeah, is it RIT dye? Is that it? Im gonna go get some tomarow.

Yes kikoman it was rit dye, there is no need to cover the clear plastic it doesn't get colored but the latch should be covered or removed because it doesnt fully get dyed and looks sloppy. The whole process took about 6-7 minutes in the bucket... then i rinsed...and dryed it with a paper towel. i did the second coat about a month later because it loses color after awhile.
I'll get pictures tomorrow...i have a cheap webcam that doesnt really show color it just looks black as you can see for yourself

Hmmm. Do you think it'll keep losing color? I don't really want to be dying it every month.
