hi all,
just like to vent. apple.com has the worst customer service. i ordered a mini online and they put incorrect shipping label. fedex told them that the unit was delivered properly to the correct person and apple won't send me a replacement unit. package was signed by someone in my apartment complex not related to me and now i am without a mini and waiting for almost a week and no resolution yet. fedex nor apple is claiming they messed up. i am caught in the middle. what do you think should i do next ? call BBB, call my Credit card co. or file a police report???
appreciate any help.

Have you approached the person who did sign? Fedex will tell you were the parcel did go. If they don't give you your ipod, then it's a police matter.
It is apple's fault though, so if you don't get any joy of them, then the credit card company is your best bet as they should give you your money back.

If you can prove that the iPod was delivered to an an adress other than your billing address for the credit card and also a different address from the one on your online receipt from apple you should be able to get a refund from your credit card company.
Have you called Customer Service or only worked with the online support. I'd call them directly and talk to them. The fact that you personally did not sign for it should give you some leverage too.

thanks for the advise.
i have talked to apple and fedex every single day since march 3 and all they're telling me is "It's still under investigation and no resolution until after 10 days and we can't send you a replacement unit until there is a resolution". i've been going back and forth and getting no answers. i guess i will just call my credit card co. and tell them exactly what happened. as you know i've been researching online for so many months before i jumped and order the new 6G mini and was really so excited to get ahold of it - but this thing happens. now i f ever i get a refund i am not so enthusiastic in getting any ipod anymore. somehow the excitement is not there anymore. i might get the IRiver H10 instead...... oh well......
thanks again. i had fun with this forum......

Er, hello. They've given you an answer. As much as you don't like it, they are going to take 10 days. That's probably standard procedure to see if the parcel will turn up itself.

Yes, but as it's being "dealt" with you'll probably wont' get any joy out of them. You'll have to wait and see if you get a result. I'm sure you will as it's clearly not your fault.
Again, confronting the person who *did* sign for the ipod would be the logical first step.

Cool logic. One wonders if this is even real? Maybe you don't want the ipod?

yes. but the answer is unclear. apple got a reply from fedex telling them the ipod was delivered correctly. fedex is claiming that they didn't erred and so does apple. so where do i stand now. now we're at "it's your words against theirs". too bad for me. apple erred in writing the incorrect shipping label - fedex delivered it to the wrong addresse and here i am stucked in the middle. shouldn't apple at least send me a replacement unit and apple and fedex should iron out the shipping issues. remember i had 2 shipments with one invoice. i was able to received the other one since it has my apt. # written on the shipping label. the ipod package doesn't have my apt. no. so it was misdelivered. now why would i suffer for apple and fedex faults? on getting the the IRiver i was thinking - if apple can't resolve this shipping issue what more if other ipod issues.
