After trying with no luck to find a Sport Case at one of my local Apple Retail Stores, I decided to order it from Apple's website. The lead time shows as 5-7 weeks on their site, but don't let that dissuade you. I placed the order on March 4th (Friday) and it was at my front door at 9AM this morning (March 8th). Granted, I paid extra for 2-day FedEx, but even with standard shipping it shouldn't take more than a week to arrive.
As far as the case itself goes, I really had no idea it would be so nice when I ordered it. It's really well made. As a matter of fact, it's got a heft to it....it probably weighs as much as the shuffle itself. The clear plastic that covers the Shuffle is very clear and very thick. The orange "gasket" really makes for a tight seal, so tight in fact that you have to work a little to get the Shuffle out of the case. Even with back side of the case open, the shuffle doesn't fall out. Even though it's not sold as being waterproof, I can't imagine that water would have a very easy time at all getting through this case. At first I was a little leery of paying $29 for the case, but after seeing it and trying it firsthand I'd have to say it was worth every penny. I leave for a cruise next week and this case should keep my Shuffle VERY well protected while lounging on the beach. I would highly recommend this case to anyone with a Shuffle. The only thing I'm not sure I like is the fact that the lanyard is not removable, but it's by no means a deal-breaker. I may even start carrying it around my neck now.
