View Full Version : iTunes won't recognise CD; I'm sure this is solvable

I'm on my work computer trying to load up some songs using iTunes. I installed and all was well and my iPod (with songs on already) is recognised by iTunes. When I put in a CD a tiny disc appears next to the mouse arrow and a box comes up asking what I want to do (import songs with iTunes, play songs with Mediaplayer etc..) so I click import and.... nothing happens.

The songs don't appear in the library window where they should and the CD doesn't appear in the source window at all. The strangest thing is that I tried this on another computer at work yesterday and it was fine. Surely this rules out firmware updating as a possible solution. I can't mess with the firmware anyway as I'm at work.

Am I missing something obvious?

Try just cancelling the options and see if the songs show.

What do you mean by that exactly?

When the box comes up asking what you want to do instead of clicking on import, click 'cancel' & see if that works. Also, make sure iTunes is selected as the default option via the control panel.
