I just recently looked at my iPod and my windows iTunes and there is another problem, in Windows it says that there is 3994 songs while on my iPod it states that there is 3995. Is there anyway i can find this missing song and add it to my library quickly without having to re-import everything using iPod Agent? Thanks

Maybe there are two copies of the same song on the iPod.

I found a solution to this. It took me a while, for a start I was reinstalling this and formatting that. I didn't even have to bother doing any of that. You just need pen and paper.
My original problem was that I had 4928 songs in iTunes library and 4927 songs on the iPod. It was killing me that one song was out...arrgh!!! There was no way of finding the offending song. Here's what I did. Thank god for Pen and Paper eh!!!
- Get some pen and paper
- Set you iPod to Manual mode, so you can browse songs etc
1. Go through iTunes and each album [I have 390 albums] and note down the number of songs in each album. Don't worry. Start by going through A-C [I did A-G first] cos the offending song may be in there. You don't have to write Album name down, you start at the first album and finish on the last Album in C.
So should look like this
12
14
15
3
4
2. After you've done A-C in iTunes library, select you iPod and go through the same albums in same order A-C and tick/dash/mark/whatever on your paper next to each number that matches the number of songs in the corresponding album on your iPod. So it looks like this
12 -
14 -
15 -
3 - [aha, the missing song!!]
3. If the song is not in A-C, then go back to Itunes Library and start from first Album in D and work to - G or something. You get the jist....Eventually you'll find an album with one less/more song in iTunes than on your iPod.
It's a long process depending on your amount of songs - or it could be, unless your lucky and the missing/extra song is in the first album. there's no other way of doing this in iTunes. Its a manual process I'm afraid...
Mine was in an album begining with P, so it was half way through my 390 albums. I found it though and now my Library in iTunes match with iPod. It took about 15/20 mins to do this. Not as long as I was expecting, Yes, I was bored ;). Something to do on a train or something.
And now my mind is at ease cos that missing song was doing my nut in!!!
