Hi all,
I've got one 3G ipod (15 GB) that ive been using for some time now. However, just recently I got one of the new 4G scroll wheel ipods. Is it possible to hook up 2 ipods to 1 computer (and 1 itunes)? I want to keep my library of songs seperate, as well as the buyers accounts.

Note that the iPods would not be connected to the computer at the same time. I run Windows XP pro.

Each Windows user account uses it's own iTunes library, so all you actually need to do is create another account under Windows XP, and run iTunes, and it will create it's own library database for that account.

The library database files themselves are stored within each account's "My Music" folder.

Depending on how much music is going to be the same on both devices, you can save disk space by sharing the same physical music files. Either set your iTunes Music Folder to the same location for both user accounts (under Edit->Preferences->Advanced), or turn OFF the option to "Copy Files to iTunes Music Library" (under the same tab).

Note that if you did want to share the same library, there's nothing wrong with using two iPods with one account/library. You can even connect both iPods at the same time without any problems. In this case, however, you'll be sharing the same music, ratings, playcounts, and playlists, so this is probably not what you want to do.

Thanks alot!

Just to check, the iPod drivers (firmware) are also seperate per Windows account, right?
