A new company called IndiePodcasting.com is promoting the music of many independent musicians in "podcasting" feeds which can send automated downloads of mp3's directly to your iPod using specialized software. All is FREE, including the software.
All of the music was screened by music industry professionals for quality and all artists have consented to providing their music for promotional purposes. So you're not getting a bunch of "garage bands". These are all serious professional musicians. Some left major record label deals to go independent.
Downloads are of two minute, CD quality song clips. There are currently almost 100 songs available. You have an option of downloading everything automatically, or listening to individual songs in streaming audio and view information about the artists.
For more information, visit www.indiepodcasting.com. If you are already familiar with podcasting, you can subscribe using the URL www.indiepodcasting.com/podcasts.xml. If you'd like to hear all the music in streaming audio right now, the url is www.indiepodcasting.com/audio/all_artists.m3u.
