hello
heres my problem i recently won a auction for a ipod on ebay nothing really came with it but it was cheap its a 20gb ipod model number A1019 i thought it was a 3rd generation but after looking it up im guessing its a 2g instead. it has the firewire/cover headphone jack and hold button on the top no bottom jacks.
i was told it would be compatible with windows and mac i have use a windows xp pc its a little bit of a older computer but none the less i was told you can transfer/upload songs using usb. it only included a firewire cable and after getting it i relised i do not have a firewire port?
im almost sure my usb is a 2.0 though. i guess my question is what do i need to get this working?
do i need to buy a entire firewire card and install it on my pc or is there some other thing? im pretty new to the ipods etc so bare with me please. if all it has on the ipod is simply a firewire output im guessing i can only use firewire correct? how much do firewire cards usually run and more importantly which one will work for my situation that falls fairly cheap? thanks and i hope someone can answer my questions.
