i am haveing the sammmmmmme freekin problems with my 20gig 4g pod

ERROR 1607 when i try and install the freekin install cd

i went ahead and transfered teh file for it from my laptop to my pc but it still dosent even recognize my ipod, nuthing works

i think it needs to be formated cuz when i clicked on EXPORT SONGS it says i have to format the ipod. so i do, and at the end of this long and tedious process, it tell sme the formating failed?

i wanna know, SHOULD i ditch this whole ipod thing and get a creative labs or Iriver?

i know u guys will say no, but throw me a bone here, what do i have to do to get a freekin mp3 player to do SIMPLE things and not stress me out like i am over this one(sorry)

ALi

P.S. thanks in advance

I would say go and get an iRiver, if you update the firmware to 1.27k (K is korean but is in english). It requires you to learn the UI a bit, but once you do, it is great. It should also turn it into UMS capable, so you can just drag and drop, not having to mess with the installation of any programs :). And you get more with the iRiver, you get what you pay for. You would also get USB on the Go.

Oh, and one word of advice if you do get the iRiver, and you do upgrade it to 1.27k you will lose DRM (being able to use those MP3 pay services like Napster), and your clock.
