Mister iPod

I just got a 60BG iPod Photo. I don't have Windows XP, I have Windows ME. When I plugged in my iPod, Windows Me found and installed it without the iPod CD. In My Computer, the iPod was there. I used Anapod Explorer, and it told me to format using Anapod Reinitializer. I did that. Then, when I used Anapod Explorer to copy songs, it gave me a transfer error. So, I tried Winamp 5 and ml_iPod. It couldn't find the iPod, so I formatted it with ml_iPod. Then Winamp found it. I used Winamp to copy songs, and it worked fine. When I hit eject in Winamp, it said "Can't Eject iPod." So, I right clicked on the "Safely Revome Hardware" logo in the system tray. Using that, I ejected the iPod, but the iPod still said "Do Not Disconnect." So I waited about 45 sec. then decided to disconnected it. When I did, it rebooted, showed the Apple logo, then the "Folder w/ Exclaimation Point" pictutre, then turned off. I tried resetting the iPod, didn't help. Reformatting it didn't help. So, I went to my friend who has Windows XP. I downloaded the newest iPod updater. It gave me a "Disc Write Error" when trying to restore/update. Now what do I do? My iPod wasn't bought from Apple, so I don't know if it's under warrenty, and I dont want to pay $100 to fix it. Please help me. Every time I turn my iPod on, i Get the same thing: Apple, Folder/Exclaimation Mark, power off. Winamp and Anapod Explorer both still find the iPod, and actually can both transfer music sucessfully.
