Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hi all,

I've recently installed my iPod(3rd Gen, 20gig) onto my new PC and updated both iTunes and the iPod software to the latest versions. Now, when I plug my iPod into my pc it shuts it down and restarts.

I know that it can't be the pc's power supply because it used to work with the original software I got with th iPOD, and I use a firewire/usb cable and charge my iPod with the firewire cable section. I tried to dock my iPod with the original firewire cable that can with my iPod, but the exact same thing happens. I can't even return my iPod to the last known, properly working version as i can't have my iPod connected long enough to return to the original software.

If anyone can help me it would be greatly welcomed.

my ipod (3g 20Gb) also does this to my computer. reinstalling (itunes & ipod updater. it also freezes these applications up, and won't let me manually format it in 'my computer' because 'my computer' freezes up when i click on the ipod disk drive), different computers (it crashed my friends new imac), different cords, disk mode, resetting the ipod, all don't do anything.

so, yes, if anyone can help out, that'd be great.
