No Firewire iTunes connection after iPod Update?

I've had my iPod since June of last year working fine on my PC. All of a sudden it only charges and iTunes won't recognize it.

Have checked the stickies in this forum and others but they provide no useful information. I've noticed that I only started experiencing the problem after updating my iPod software earlier this week.

Anyone else seeing an abundance of topics about this problem crop up this week?

I'm thinking either Microsoft is responsible for having released some kind of patch to disable iPod connectivity, or Apple with the firmware update.

This is truly bizarre.

I am having the same problem when i updated itunes. Now my computer does not recognize the ipod. did you get any results to fihure this out???

I actually have it working today. Not sure about the solution though because I made some pretty extensive changes to my computer today.

Unrelated to the iPod problem, I was rebuilding my system from the ground up so I was reinstalling it piece by piece and changing some ports and that around, guess that triggered something.

Not sure what did it, but it's working again just fine! Very spurious error.
