Hey all,
I have a 5GB 1st gen iPod with a bad hard drive. The drive spins up and sometimes boots the iPod, but causes the iPod to crash shortly thereafter. I've determined through testing with a second dead iPod I bought off of eBay that it is the HDD that has problems, and not the motherboard.
So...does anyone have a hard drive that will work in this unit? I've seen iPod HDDs on eBay, but they're ridiculously expensive. Send me a PM or an email to cwwirth@applefritter.com. Thanks!
