Just got my Sport Case in from Apple.

This is really a pretty nicely made piece. I was a little hesitant to spend the money on this case but I needed something because I use it at the gym so I went ahead and ordered. There really is more to this case than Apple shows in their photo of it. They should have shown the case empty so you could see what it really is.

Basically, it's a plastic case that is hinged by the lanyard and opens up in half and you seat the Shuffle down inide it. It has a built in control pad that presses down on the Shuffle's pad and while I wont say it's waterproof by any means, it does have a rubber o-ring (The orange line that runs around the side) that seals the two case halves together. The two little things that jut out on the side are locking switches for the case.

It also comes with a short headphone extension which you need to use as you'd be hard pressed to plug headphones into this case.

Overall, nice piece and Im not sorry I spent the money on it after having it in my hands.

Well, after having the sports case a few days and using it, here are a couple of initial ramblings.

1 - Its sort of a pain to turn the unit off and on. You have to open the case, swing the back down and slide the switch off and on. Not a dealbreaker and I can see WHY it was done as that's another location where perspiration could enter the unit.

2 - The control pad over control pad thing is pretty cool. It works very well to the point that you dont even realize that there is actually 2 pads there but the real upside is that you dont have the lock the player anymore when working out. With the Shuffle alone, even the headphone cable hitting the control pad would change tracks. With the case in place, that doesnt happen.

Overall, still liking the case and still not disappointed I spent the money. And while I probably will buy one of Helix's cases, the Sports Case will probably be used more simply because its more sweat resistant and that's the enviroment I use my Shuffle in.

Received my shuffle and sport case yesterday. Apple store said 5-7 weeks for the case but I only ordered last week and it is here, now that is fast.

Where can I buy an extra cable for that little head phone extender thingy, already lost mine, I checked Apple stores in my area and Apple.com, but can't seem to buy an extra cord. I even checked Radio Shack if they sell something similar, nadaa

Definetly worth the money, the case feels solid in every way. Not taken it anywhere near water yet, but I would say get one, you will not be disappointed.

I picked one up a couple of days ago at Circuit City - mainly because I use the shuffle when I'm running. So far so good. It is a pain to take in and out to charge, but well worth the extra protection.
