What's hard, five inches long, and great fun to play with on the toilet?
...an ipod of course!
Okay- So I've had my ipod for nine days- and I'm on the whole loving it... Navigation is a bit sketchy, but I'll get used to that. Transfer from my G4 350 is good enough- and I've got my head round the (frankly bizzare) itunes software.
There is one problem that I keep encountering- A strange skipping, clicking sound during some tracks- The skips and clicks sound a little like a CD skipping, and are burned into the MP3- they're always in the same place on the track.
I figured that this must be due to dirt on my discs- But some of them are perfect and the tracks still skip. Also, the tracks seem to play fine from itunes- but skip on the pod... Very strange.
In order to delete the affected tracks from ipod, what do I do? I've tried docking it, opening its playlist in itunes, then selecting the track and hitting delete... Itunes prompts me that the track will be deleted, and it dissapears out of the ipods library in itunes- But is still on the pod itself!
Creepy stuff- and what's more- I heard that the ipod is so expensive because scientists had to manufacture a BRAND NEW metal for it's back casing... THE MOST SUPER-HEAT CONDUCTIVE METAL IN EXISTANCE! I mean ####- That thing is hot enough to burn me after 40 mins charging.... How long are you supposed to charge an ipod for? Because mine takes all day and only gives me about 6hrs on Random.... less than that today because I was playing with it :) Is it possible to over-charge an ipod?
So what's the deal with all these problems? Should I be encoding my MP3's differently? Currently I'm on "better quality" 160kbps... I love this machine, but for the amount it cost, I really didn't expect to have any problems at all!
