Cassette for adapter behind Navigation System

Hello all-- I am new to these boards and on my way to being a first-time iPod owner.

However, I have a problem....

I have a BMW 740iL (so I can't iPod my BMW) where the cassette player is located behind the navigation screen (the disk changer is in the trunk).

To get to the cassette player, to use the adapter for the iPod, the navigation screen lowers and then closes back into place.

I fear the adapter cord will warp from the screen closing, or worse the cord affecting the navigation system.

Anyone have any ideas? Am I out of luck and have to get the awful-reviewed iTrip thingi?

yeah.. i'm pretty sure you're out of luck...i've been researching this a bunch .. my dad wants an ipod in his 645coupe with idrive. i'm convinced its POSSIBLE because whenever theres an external CD changer you have the opportunity to tap into some kind of aux. inputs (for the CDC) ... as far as i know, however, no one makes an adapter.
