Has anyone used or installed the USASpec PA10 yet? It sells for $114.98. Here is a description:

PLAY, CONTROL, CHARGE Your iPod or iPod Mini through the OEM FACTORY Stereo! Smart iPod™ interfaces provides full function of the iPod™ utilizing the CD Changer functions of the OEM radio and steering wheel. The PA10-TOY smart interface will allow the factory radio in select Toyota, Scion, Acura, Honda, Isuzu vehicles to charge and control the iPod™ or iPod™ Mini and unlike other iPod™ interfaces, which give you basic controls (Next track, Previous track, Fast Forward & Fast rewind) the PA10-TOY include the basics plus direct access to 5 different playlist and a single auxiliary input connection.

I'm wondering why nobody is discussing it. I have nothing to do with this company or product. I'm just wondering. Thanks.

I installed the PA10 in my Toyota today in about 20 minutes. I had been using the Sony tape adapter, which Ipodlounge considers one of the best tape adapters. The PA10 sounds much better, about as good as a CD. It allows 5 playlists and shuffle play, and of course control of the iPod from the dash. Considering the price, $120, the ease of installation in my car, and the improvement in sound quality, I am happy with it.

3dogs,

What iPod generation do you have? I just installed the PA10 in my Toyota and can only get it to work with my iPod mini. My 30 gig 3rd generation only charges and won't switch over to the remote use mode.

I like the sounds quality, but am not so happy about the problems with my 3rd gen. I've tried 2.2 and 2.3 firmware without much luck.

I have a 4G. My vendor's web site says "the adapter is compatible with all iPod and iPod mini models equipped with a dock connector and iPod software update 2004-04-28, or higher." Have you tried that?
