Bought a cigarette lighter adapter from Arkon and it is causing problems. I was previously using a Monster charger/line out Icharger with no problems. Decided I wanted the cigarette lighter mount. Now I have ground loop issues that weren't there before and I can hear the hard disc spinning through the line out jack which I also did not have with the monster. What a mistake. Hopefully this has not damaged my IPOD. I think I will get the monster cable back.

Please let me know. Maybe I just got a bad one. I though about just getting a ground loop filter or moving the ground location of cigarette lighter, but it wouldn't fix the hard drive noise because that happens even if I don't have it connected to the lighter. The part that disturbs me about the product is that I didn't get that problem with the monster cable. In case anyone's intrested in the details, I don't get the sound through my headphone jack, only throught the line out of the Arkon unit, whether its connected to the lighter or not.

If you are curious about the quality, just saw the identical model on ebay, brand new, buy it now for 16.99. I guess you get what you pay for. BTW, this appears to be the identical model sold by Seido and mobile planet.

I hooked mine up and had no noise to speak of. It sounds the same as when using the Sik cables... My only issue with it is that i wish it was more articulating without the extension... a sideways movement would be great. Im just gonna create a new cig lighter lower in the console and use the extension arm..

Here is a trick i figured out to adjust the mount a little to the right of the cigarette lighter. When mounting the mount to the arm, twist it counter-clockwise rather than the designed clockwise. If you look at the design of the interface, it will accommodate this by 10-15 degrees. Then you can use the mounting arm adjustments for left right manipulation rather than up/down. And its still very secure. As a bonus, I could adjust to face the driver slightly.

Glad to hear you had better luck than I did with the sound quality.
