Neo Ion with Dock?

I just installed the Neo iOn with mini in my truck. It works great! I wanted to install the apple mini dock connector in the ash tray, beacuse I thought it would make a good dock for the mini. I was under the impression that the dock was a pass-through device, but the sound does not come through the dock, only a high pitched noise, but it will charge...the mini's sound only works without the dock.

I see some very cool pictures with docks for the mini and ipod..why won't my dock work and is there a dock that will work with the Neo iOn?

I had this really cool install done with a dock embeded in my dash. Hooked up the ion's dock connector to the dock and ........ nothing. it charged just fine. but no sound.

the line out on the dock takes over the line out to the ion. I plugged the ion directly into the ipod. Works great!

I sold the ion and got a PIE adapter. No controling with the head unit, but works and SOUNDS great!
