Hey Everyone,

I just picked up and had my new head unit installed today. The head unit is pretty great, and I plan on getting the KCA-420i pretty soon but wanted to get the deck in first since I have an Itrip too.

Has anyone played around with the I-personalize settings much? I had the installer setup the digital time correction, but has anyone had much luck at programming the EQ User presets, and crossover settings? I'm went on Alpine's site to play around with it, but I honestly have absolutely no idea as to how the crossovers should be set, nor really what would be good for the other 6 EQ settings.

Has anyone successfully gotten their settings setup? Would anyone be willing to help me out by offering suggestions (or maybe even the files they used)?

Thanks,

MAtt

I have the same HU buddy and it sounds awesome with my set of Alpine Speakers. The internal amp makes everything sound wonderful. I too went over to Alpine's i-Personalize site and didn't know what the hell to do. I'm not gonna mess with it for now...

I must admit that it does sound pretty good, except for jazz music and other music with lots of highs. Just seems to be too much in terms of highs and not enough mid tones. Otherwise I'm extremely impressed.

I found three settings on my CDA-9851 that made the biggest difference in sound quality for my SUV, especially in the midtones: the fader setting, the bass bandwidth, and the bass level (bass center frequency made much less difference). I think the biggest impact was the combination of the two bass settings, with the wider bandwidth boosting some of the lower midrange frequencies.

I just did a I-personalize online for my 9831. To be honest I don't think Alpine explain very well how to set these features nor how to use them. For example I was playing around with the EQ settings and I made some changes but I have no clue of what I did nor how to use it. The Manual shows how to install them but that's about it. I'll play with it more tomorrow.

How is your system set up? I have a 9833 connected to 4 channel amp. The front channels goes to front channels on amp, and sub-out goes to rear channels on amp. The front speaker wires are split into tweeter/midwoofer in the speakers xover in the door. I am also a little unsure about the headunit xover, i only hear changes when i change the HI-frequensies. The other xover bands have no impact on the sound of my system... Seems a little wierd to me... But the sound is good, a litte much HI and a little less midtone... have the Focal 165 2V.
