Hello. I am looking for earbuds in the $60 to $100 price range, for the purpose of punk and rock listening for the most part. I've read about the Shure e2's and the Sony MDR ex-71's but they seem more for hip-hop/rap listening with their heavy bass. What would you guys recommend for someone who thinks with their rock fist?
I bought the E2s and I only listen to rock. They sound awesome...
I do find it difficult to get a good seal though...

2nd vote for the E2C. Much improved clarity over Koss Plugs (which are nevertheless good enough that I use them in the gym). That's with a playlist that includes X, Dead Kennedys, Clash & AC/DC

You guys are talking about the Shure e2c's, right? Where should I purchase these? Online? Or at a brick and mortar store such as Radio Shack or Best Buy?

Yep, Shure E2C. Online is usually the way to go. I got mine from Ecost. If you shop around a bit and are patient enough to wait for a sale you can find them for around $60-70. Otherwise they are usually $99 (from what I've seen).

Most of what I listen to falls into the punk/rock area, and I use the Sonys. They do have good bass, but I don't notice that they make things sound more bass than they should. Most punk stuff is mixed very flat with no particular instrument or tone being stressed over the others, and thats pretty much what I get out of the Sonys. I can't see paying for audiophile buds if most of what you listen to is punk.
