Hi, sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but did a search and couldn't really find the answer i was looking for.

I'm seriously thinking about getting a vaja for my 4G 20gig ... but I've read some posts about how removing your ipod from the vaja case is rather difficult and can cause scratches on the side. on the other hand, i've read a few other posts about how people have had no problems with scratches on their ipod and they take it out of their cases all the time (or whenever they are charging, etc).

for people who own vaja cases:
have you experienced scratches on your ipod?
how often do you take it out of the case?
is there a "good way" to take the ipod in/out of the case in order to prevent scratches? did you try to stretch out the leather at all in order to make it not so snug?

i LOVE how the vaja looks, but if i'm going to spend 100 bucks on a case, i don't really want it to scratch my ipod!! i also want something that isn't really annoying/troublesome to take off or put back on.

advice, opinions, etc would be a great help! thanks

I just got my Vaja case today, and it is awesome. It is very well-crafted and solid. When the iPod is in the case, it doesn't move around a bit. I felt inside the case, as much as my big hands would allow, and I couldn't feel any rough bits that could potentially scratch the case. The case is stiff, and I was concerned at first that it would mar the surface, but so far, so good. I wouldn't dare try to stretch the leather. I like the snug fit. For me, once it's in, it's in, and I'm not worried about it. I'm just glad that there's a screen protector.

Your mileage will vary, of course, but here's my two cents.

And I'll say it again: the Vaja case is totally awesome. It's worth the bucks and the wait. And the leather smells good, too.

Hope that helps a little,
Michael

I have had my Vaja since September. It's an amazing case. Amazing quality, well crafted. But you have to realize that whatever you do your iPod WiLL get scratched. There's no doubt about it. I only got the Vaja case for protection against falls. By the sounds of your post it looks like you only want the case just so your iPod won't get scratched.
Anyway... Once I recieved my case, it was quite hard to take my iPod out of it. After time the case streched/loosened and it was easier to insert and take out my iPod. So it does loosen up after about a month or so. I have also noticed vertical scratch lines up and down the back of the iPod from all the times I have taken it out of the case to clean. If you have the money and patience I suggest you go for it.
