I have an Alpine CDA-9833 head unit along with the KCA-420i iPod Adapter. The issue occurs when I do the following:
1) Listening to my iPod via the KCA-420i interface by selecting Changer on my CDA-9833.
2) Turn off my car.
3) Start my car sometime later.
When my stereo comes back on, the output is very very quiet. I need to cycle away from Changer (I always go to Tuner), allow the music to play at it's proper level, and then switch back to Changer to listen to my iPod.
It seems like the CDA-9833 goes into some kind of safe mode, and I need to go to another input to get it back into normal mode. Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, did you find any way around it? It's kind of annoying to have to cycle to Tuner and back if I turn off my car with Changer selected.
