I have been looking for a car charger for my iPod that doesn't make noise when you use it. I tried the Monster Cables low profile charger and the Macally PidCig. Does anyone have a good recommendation for either reducing the noise during charging or a different charger that doesn't make noise? It only seems to make noise when I'm charging.

What type of connection do you have to your car stereo?
If it's a direct connection (AUX input, wired FM modulator), it's probably a ground loop. You need to isolate the car ground from the iPod audio ground somehow. Two ways of doing so are 1) a ground loop isolator (available from Radio Shack), or 2) a power inverter and your regular AC adapter.
Another suggestion I got from Crutchfield that I cannot confirm is running a wire from the ground on the cigarette lighter socket to chassis ground.

I have an Aux input.
Ok, thanks, I'll give it a try. I was poking around the forum and it seems like that is the popular reply to most of the noise problems. I haven't seen (unless I'm looking in the wrong place) that it is actually the solution though. Does anyone know if a ground loop isolator actually works?
