Anyone have either of these? I'd like to know which is better as I'm off on vacation in two weeks and need some Shuffle protection from the Jamaican beach sand.
For those that have the silicone version, can the cap with the lanyard be protected or just the non-lanyarded version?
For those in the know, any chance that Apple will release the official Sport Case within the next two weeks?
TIA

Hey, I'll being going to Jamaica in June for our honeymoon and I'll be taking my Shuffle too.
I really don't have an opinion on either case as I don't have either, but it's doubtful you'd get the sport case in 2 weeks considering the Apple Store site says 5-7 weeks. Even though the price is more, I'm sure that would be more sand resistant than others since they claim its weather resistant.

I got the Silicone case and it is perfect for the ipod shuffle. I got a black on. If you get the case it will eventually get scartched. Also It does not cover the lan-yard cap only the stock one.
Hope this helps

I got the silicone skins multiple colors (blue, green and pink) and its excellent protection but only covers the standard cap and not the lanyard cap. Reasonably priced and good alternative until the sport case becomes available.

The silicone also attracts a LOT of dust and dirt.
I just returned from a week in Negril, Jamaica and my Shuffle had the official Sport Case while my wife's Shuffle had the unofficial Silicone Case.
I was able to use the lanyard and had excellent results in keeping the Shuffle clean. Looked great inside the case even though the clear plastic had some scratching.
The wife couldn't use a lanyard (made her sad) and also had great results in Shuffle protection in the sand/wind/lotion environment. Only downside was that the Shuffle looked dirty and dingy seeing that the silicone trapped some dirt and grime- made it look dusty and old.
If you can live with the condom-like protection, don't use the lanyard, and don't get upset by the grimy appearance, choose the cheap/replaceable Silicone sleeve and it'll do just fine.
If you need a lanyard and want something cool to compliment the Shuffle and look good after a hard day at the beach, spend the $ and get the official Sport Case.

Got a set of 3 GelShields the other day (lime, frost, pinkish) and they do seem to attract a bit of link (but it can be brushed off w/ your fingers).
But isn't that part of the point of them, in that what lint is on the table, lap, cat, whatever, the shield keeps it out, and directly off, the Shuffle.
I like them; no complaints here.
