I was bored today and noticed an empty altoid gum case I had was about the same size as my shuffle....
Drilled a hole and lined it with a peice of paper towel. Cap doesn't fit but o well.

What a clever idea. I'm going to go find an Altoids gum case to go with all the other DIY cases I'm putting together for my Shuffle.

You might wan to consider foam tape instead of the paper towel.

Ya, I'll probably use cloth or foam tape later. This was just a spur of the moment thing to see if it would work.

wonder if the metal on the usb conenctor would be an issue...guess not since the connectors are inside..

Very cute. I especially like the fact that even though the cap won't fit, the USB connector is still protected, which is one reason I wouldn't get Helixipod's aluminum case, no matter how gorgeous it is. I want to be able to stuff it in my pockets without having to worry about pocket lint and gunk getting into the connector.
I think I'm gonna try this.
