Very, very strange problem...

I've had my 4G 20 gig iPod for a while now (since October), and I just tried to update it to 3.0.2. It seemed to go fine, but I discovered a very strange problem afterwards; both iTunes and the iPod updater reads the iPod as having 32.0 GB. Even when the iPod is completely empty, iTunes says 21.63 GB have been used, and 9.64 GB are free.

When transferring music in iTunes, the songs show up when browsing my iPod via iTunes, but they do not appear on the actual iPod screen. I've tried resetting my iPod and restoring my iPod (using three different iPod updater versions), but nothing will fix it.

Anyone have any ideas? Or should I send it back? Thanks.

Have you tried restoring the ipod to the original setting .If this doesn't work suggest that you uninstall itunes (back up music first) and try and reinstall and see if this works.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried restoring my iPod, but that didn't work. I'll try reinstalling iTunes tomorrow morning. I'll post here with news of whether or not it worked. :)

Reinstalling iTunes didn't work, either. I think I'll just send a service request. Thanks anyways. :)
