So I've got a relatively big file saved onto my G3 15G iPod under hard disk mode that I would like to delete. When I explore to the ipod (F:\) drive and try to delete it, I get the following error message :

"Error Deleting File or Folder"
Cannot delete ______ : It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

Not only are no programs apparently using the file, but I have even restarted the computer several times, unmounted/mounted and unplugged/replugged the ipod, still with no success. Anyone else have this problem with deleting files?

I'm running a PC with XP, I have a gen3 15G, and I use EphPod 2.71 and Apple iPod Manager 2.0.1.

Thanks!

Well, make sure you have whatever could be using the application in your computer closed (even though it has nothing to do with your ipod)--your computer may be getting confused and think you're trying to delete a critical application from your system--it's considering your ipod a part of that system, even though it's not....If that doesn't work, just restore the ipod with the 2.0.1 updater--that will clean the HD. You'll have to synch your stuff again, as it will get rid of everything..

Thanks Chris.

I'll try just closing applications but i want to avoid restoring if at all possible...let me know if you think of any solutions short of the ultimate one.
