Help... new to ipod, playlist question.

I just recently got a 20 gig 4g ipod and I can't figure out how to make a playlist from EXISTING music on my ipod. I have a PC...

Is this possible? Or do I HAVE to use my music library?

You can create On-The-Go playlists on the iPod. You can also create playlists in iTunes. If you create a smart playlist, just make sure 'Match only checked songs' is checked.

not sure if this is what you're asking, but you can't make new playlists from the ipod itself. the only thing you can do is the on-the-go type.

Is there any way to disable making on-the-go playlists? I always make them accidentally and then have to delete them the next time I open in it in iTunes.
