Hello,
I picked up a Jam Jackt Pro for my 4G and I like the cases feel and the belt clip but the screen protector is just horrible. We all know that it attract dust, gives the wet look, and is difficult to see through when there is any glare so I was wondering if anyone has "modded" their case by cutting the screen cover out. I was thinking that it wouldn't be too dificult to do with an Xacto knife and straight edge.

I also think I'm going to look for a new case. I want one that protects the screen and has a belt clip (it's perfect when I'm at work) with the same general feel of the Jam Jacket. It seems that everyone raves about the iSkin eVo2 so maybe that's what I'll do next. Anyway, let me know what you think of my idea.

Thanx,
Mike

I have the Jam Jacket for my mini, and cut the screen out is exactly what I did and it's worked fine for me ever since. Since the screen is recessed, extra protection is really only an issue if you keep you iPod in a pocket with keys, screws, and rocks ;)

I did cut out the screen protector last night. It came out cleanly using an Xacto knife to cut around the edges. I know that I risk a scratch or gouge but I have a scratch removal kit and I ordered an iSkin eVo2 last night. It has the rigid plastic protector so hopefully it will provide better protection and appearance. For now I'll just try to take it easy on the display.

Well, I got my eVo2, and in the words Men On Film from In Living Color, HATED IT! The belt clip is horrible and the case is cut so that it's difficult to use the lock on top. So, I reinstalled the Jam Jacket, slid the screen protector from the iSkin into the Jam Jacket, and now I have the best of both worlds. I like it.

I cut the screen protector out of my Jam Jacket as well. I then installed a PDA screen protector over the screen to avoid scratches and am very happy with it...well, except for the new 20gig color iPod not fitting in it very well...
