New 15GB iPod won't work

I just got my 15GB 3rd gen in the mail today.

1) I plugged it in, inserted the CD and installed iPod manager.
2) Installed EphPod and downloaded some songs onto it
3) Removed the iPod (after safely disabling in Windows), only to get a frozen screen - "OK to disconnect"
4) Reset the iPod, only to get an icon that looks like a folder with an exclamation mark on it

What do I do?

I'd restore it with the 2.0.1 updater and try again...And if you installed mmjb, I'd get rid of it. What version of windows are you using?

EPhpod is pretty good in a lot of ways but is also really buggy. It crashes on me quite frequently. You may have just been unlucky. Time to restore as the guy above mentioned and try again.
