Space Remaining??

Which source is the BEST for determining how much space is remaining on the ole IPOD? Itunes or the ABOUT Screen on the IPOD itself? I have about 1527 songs on the IPOD and the IPOD says I have 18.5 Capacity and 12.1 gb available. ITUNES says 12.71 used and 5.85 free/available.

Do you have the same 1527 songs in iTunes or are there more? 6GB for 1500 songs sounds right to me so I would go with what the iPod says.

I have maybe a few hundred that are NOT on the ipod but are in Itunes.
