I recently built a new computer and installed the cd that came with my iPod. The first time I hooked it up to my new computer, iTunes recognized and updated the iPod, but then when I made some changes then clicked update again, the computer restarted. so then when I restarted I plugged it in again and iTunes didn't even load before the computer restarted. What I don't get is that on my older computer, I never had a single problem with crashing. Now when I installed the iPod updater, I chose to just update the iPod as opposed to just formatting and starting over fresh. Do you think the reason it's crashing is because it's used to the old computer and not the new one. I'd really like to avoid having to format it if possible. Anyboy experience this same problem, and if so how did you fix it.
