Try media center 9. It costs like 30 bucks after the 30 day evaluation.. but it does EVERYthing.. ripping, id3 tag editing, media management, ipod connectivity... I really like it.
Yep, I'd strongly recommend MC9--it's the best all in one for the ipod. The price is $40.00 though...;)

I've heard great things about MC9, but I have 2 suggestions for free programs first:
Ephpod is supposed to be a great program with some cool features like the ability to dload RSS streams (usually these are headlines from news sites) when you sync, and also the ability to transfer AAC's. I couldn't get it to transfer the tags correctly for me, but I've never heard of anyone else having this problem
vPod is the program I use. It doesn't have as many features as Ephpod, but it's extremely simple, keeps track of your music library, transfers AAC's, and transfers all music very fast. ( Much faster than MMJB)
Hope this helps :)
I'll add another vote for ephpod. I've only set up the weather rss stream so far, but it handles all my mp3s just great.
I use cdex/razorlame to convert my CDs, so don't need an all-in-one program. I haven't tried MC9, but $40 seems a lot compared to ephpod ($0).

Try MC9, and you will love it. I also hesitated to spend $40, but after trying...
All:
Will MC9 upload big (300+MB) mp3 files? ephpod bombs out on big files, so I am looking for something else . . .
Thanks.

I used MMJB 8.0 for a few weeks. Nothing was wrong with it, I just wanted a program devoted to the iPod. I heard people talking about Ephpod and downloaded 2.71. I have not had a problem with tags, duplicates, or AAC's. The best part is it's FREE
