I am using windows xp, 20gig 3rd gen iPod and USB2 connection.
My computer does not have a firewire connection so this means that I have to use a USB2 port. When I connect my iPod to the computer there is a sign appears saying that it does not recognise my iPod either re-connect it or the device has malfunctioned. Then about 10 seconds after this it says "This device can perform fater - Hi speed devise attached to slow speed connection, please connect it to a USB2 port" But then iTunes still loads up and the songs transfer at a very slow rate compared to a friend who has a firewire connection.
If this isn't enough sometimes the computer does not recognise my iPod at all, it jst goes straight to "Ok to disconnect" on the iPod screen. It can take up to 5 times for the computer to read the iPod!! I have coped with it for about 6 months but now I want to fix the problem.
Please help me!
