I have a ipod photo 40gb so i ordered a showcase photo from their website but they shipped me a 4G. the package states it photo compatible but their website shows 2 different part numbers. should i return it?

The contour showcase i ordered is compatible for all fourth generation click-wheel ipods, ipod-photos werent out at the time(correct me if im wrong). I have model no. Sh-CASE4g i think the ipod photo is thicker maybe you should give them a call @ 603.893.4556 or email them at cs@contourdesign.com

I ordered my Contour Showcase from Amazon. The one I received can accept both 4G iPods as well as the iPod Photo. They include two different spacers: a thick one for the 20GB and a thin one for the 40GB. The iPod Photo requires no spacer. It's possible that Contour has quit making the older case in favor of just producing one that fits all, but I'm not sure. You'll have to drop them a line to find out.

MCfreiz, contact Contour for confirmation. You don't want to damage your iPod photo, by squashing it into a case that is too small. Which part of the "package states it photo compatible"?
The Showcase 4G should be slightly thinner than the Showcase photo. Which is why the photo case included the two foam spacers.
does anyone know if there is a showcase made specifically for the ipod photo, i got a showcase from the apple store that said it was compatible with all 4g's but it is really tight for my 40gb ipod photo.Thanks
KMad, yes Contour Design released a second case designed to fit the photo. It is called Showcase Photo (not the Showcase 4G). This is because the 40 & 60 GB iPod photos are marginally thicker than the 40GB 4G iPod. You may want to check with your Apple store for the Showcase Photo. Cheers.
