I am looking for a very basic and thin case with screen protection and possibly scroll wheel protection. I also do not need dock compatibility and would not like to spend lots of money on it.

Does anybody have suggestions?

thanks

I've been very happy with my 3G iSkin. It comes with a belt clip and screen protector, both of which can be removed. There's a flap over the dock connector so that a cable could be plugged in while it's in the case although it's too thick for the dock itself. The new cases even have click wheel protectors.

Ditto...the iSkin is great for the money. It provides great drop and scratch protection. It also comes with a screen cover. The only issue I have had is that it tends to attract dust and lint. I have solve this problem by rinsing every week. Other than that, it is great...:)

I got the black one so I don't see much of the dirt but it does attract the hair.

If you want scroll wheel protection, then Lajo skins were made for you. ;)

I recently bought 4 Lajo exo2fb skins, and 2 iShades for less than $30. I was a bit apprehensive before I got them, thinking that they would be subpar to iSkin ones, but they were immaculate, and equal in thickness. Plus they covered the clickwheel by design, rather than having to buy, then insert a clickwheel cover.

Don't get me wrong, iSkins are quality, but so are Lajo's, and they're much cheaper.

The issues with lint attraction, is due to the material used, silicone. If someone complains that they're Lajo skin attracts lint, then so does the iSkin, and vice-versa.

I ended up using talcum powder on mine, and rubbed off the excess until it could no longer be seen. Now it's no longer attracting lint. :)
