Just wanted to see why most people use cases? Is it so u can use a clip to hang it from cloths without pockets? Or mabye to keep the water off it while exercising? Or just to keep your ipod looking brand new and not get any scratches on it when yu ut it in your backpack? I got my ipod a week ago and am looking at the iskin Arctic case, just something for some extra protection from moisture and to keep it scratch free.

I use a case to keep mine free from scratches.

I have one of those white, silicone cases for my iPod. The case tends to attract dirt and fuzz, but the dirt and fuzz are manageable enough. I prefer to keep my iPod scratch free, mostly. I don't need a clip at the moment, as I find the iPod easy enough to place in my pocket.

If I make any future case puchases, I will most likely go for something leather with a clip on it.

I got a case because i started seeing hairline scratches on the screen and back and it was upsetting me. Basically i just wanted protection my case has done that.

Puffyg, personally I use my case to protect my iPod from damage whilst transporting it to and from work (it contains back ups of work data, as well as my music).

I got my Evo in order to protect the iPod from accidental falls and me bumping into stuff while it is in my posket. I just rinse mine off every week and it stays perfectly clean...:)

For me it was scratches, but then I became smitten with the amazing colour and design range of skins out there. In particular, those from Lajo, who seems to have more styles than anyone else.

I bought 4 skins in one order for less than $30, as I thought for sure that I'd get bored with one colour all the time, just like the default white.

Even now, I'm thinking of ordering more.

Just call me a skin horse. :D

Alas, the mineral oil I tried, had not real effect, but Talcum powder did! :D

Just rub it down with the stuff, and blow/rub off the excess until the white powder is no longer visible.

It works!
