ipod dead after 1.3 update!!!

After I finished the update to the firmware 1.3, my ipod is not longer recognized by win xp. And the worst thing is that my ipod (10gb) doesnt work anymore at all. It shows the apple logo and then shows a picture of the firewirecable connection, which should probably mean that I m supposed to make up the connection. But everything is already connected!! Resetting the ipod results in the same problem: only this silly picture and then it shuts off! PLease help me, I dont want to lose my 10 Gigs of music!!!!!!!!!

Try plugging you ipod up to the mains. What it is asking for is power so that it can update the firmware.

Did you get the screen where you have the appple logo and a progess bar at the bottom???

Thanks! I didn't have my recharger with me when I tried to update it. When I got home I recharged it and everything was fine! But this symbol is kinda confusing though, there was just this picture of the cable - nothing else... it could have also asked for the firewire connection.
