Help with calendar

Hi. I have just got my iPod and I want to try out using my calendar.

I have read a couple of help topics about the calendar fuction but none that help me.

I'm using Microsoft Outlook for the calendar and I want to just drag and drop my calendar dates over to my iPod when in hard disk mode. When I do this it appears in the iPod (on the computer) as a .msg file instead of a .ics or .vcs that I heard you need.

Can you help me by telling me how to get a .ics or .vcs file onto my iPod.

You have to open the calendar event in Outlook and File / Save As. You then save as a .vcs file into your iPod Calendar directory.
If you do this with Outlook you need to do each calendar event one at a time.
