Massively Major Operational (Repairable?) Problems
All right. I got my 4th gen 40gb ipod a few weeks ago, it was working fine for a while, but once i got past about 700 songs, i started having that "unknown error (-36)" problem. I got by that by just restarting the ipod and the computer. However, it had recently got so bad that i just cleared all the songs off. I tried to do the restore, but the ipod updater didnt work. I uninstalled the windows XP software, reinstalled it. I waited for the program to format the ipod (that never happened). I try opening up the ipod updater but i get the problem "ipod service error."

the ipod gets the little exclamation point folder, and when i tried to delete all the folders in windows explorer, it won't delete them because they are corrupted.

anyone with any idea as to what to do, please reply.
i am considering just sending it back to the factory or whatever, as it's still on the warranty.
